Amazon.com Review:
Building Integrated Office Applications is an introductory-level programming book that covers the Office 95 versions of Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Schedule+. The book emphasizes how to build programs that leverage the capabilities of two or more Office programs; therefore, there are chapters on integrating Word and Excel, Word and Access, and Acess and Excel. The excellent CD-ROM contains a dozen Visual Basic custom controls as well as Office and Windows utilities.

My thanks to Gordon Padwick. Integrated Office Application lifted the veil from my eyes and I finally understood how to control one MS Office application from another. It has great, practical examples of how to control Excel from Access, Acess from Excel, Excel from Word, etc. Learning about CopyFromRecordset (an Excel Range method) was enough to justify purchase of this book! I grok it now.
