Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
The Me210 and Me410 were originally planned as further developments of the twin-engined Messerschmitt Bf110 as the Luftwaffe sought a high-speed heavy fighter and gun platform. First flown in September 1939, the early version, Me210, proved extremely troublesome, suffering from in-flight instability and landing-gear problems. There were frequent accidents and production was terminated in April 1942 after 352 aircraft had been complete. A total of some 370 further examples were left incomplete on the production line.
First flown in 1942, the sleek Daimler-Benz-powered Me410, however, was much more successful and was manufactured in large numbers as a two-seat tactical aircraft fighter for ground-attacks and reconnaissance operations. More than 100 different variants and sub-variants had been produced by the end of 1944, using virtually every weapon available to the Luftwaffe. This book will enable readers to distinguish between the multitudes of sub-types and identify the various modifications, weapons systems, and conversion packs that were used.

I'd order this book AGAIN, but the last time i ordered it my order was finally cancelled by AMAZON after about 6 months. It's funny....It's advertised as "ususlly ships within 24 hours", and 6-months later you still don't have it...every couple of months you get an email that says its coming, with a new date...and yet...you can buy it in a brick-and-mortor book store....Really sh***ty business practices. Unfortunately this has happend to me on several occasions....Way to go AMAZON

Although I did like this book, after reading it I could not help feeling a little disappointed. I realise that it is only meant to be an Illustrated production history but some things could have been explained better than they are such as the the difference between each varient instead of relying on untranslated documents. The colour profiles while quite good could have included some Me410B models, some are only called Me410's and leaves one wondering what they really are,I realise the difficulty in doing this without knowing the Werknummer. Chapter 2 which is the Werknummer list probably should have been the last chapter.
Having said this, the photographs are excellent as are the reprints from the technical manuals.A good book but could have been much better.

I really wanted more from this title. I found the placement of the production/operations logs right in the middle of the book annoying. Unless you are looking to find a single aircraft, this data is pretty useless, and certainly does not belong in the middle of the book. Seems like it was used for filler, in my opinion. More diagrams of the aircraft, armament, etc would have been nice as well. It's still a decent reference, but folks who want the end-all be-all book on the 210/410 will be dissapointed like I was.

I reckon this book is a con. It has been listed here as in stock for at least a month, and I have tried to buy it on two separate occassions. I say 'tried' because these Amazon idiots don't seem to want to get it out of their unfullfillment centre. Why advertise a book and then spend a month not shipping it? Maybe they are just lazy and stupid and think this will impress me. It didn't work. Anyway I think the book is garbage because you can't read a book that won't be sold to you. I have to give this book only one star because the minimum requirement for a book is that you have it to read. This failed that test. It doesn't deserve any star. Don't waste your time trying to buy this book because you won't get to read it anyway, going on my experience.
