Product Description:
Despite investing considerable time, effort, and money, most golfers remain frustrated by their lack of progress toward a consistent swing. In A Swing You Can Trust, Roberto Borgatti, an acclaimed teaching professional whose method has gained acceptance among amateurs and professionals alike, offers a breakthrough approach for achieving confident, low-scoring play.
Borgatti's method helps you acquire trust in your swing and overall game, the same trust that ultimately leads to reliable technique and consistently better scoring. Unlike faddish quick-fix approaches, Borgatti's training program gives players the tools they need to build a strong game from the ground up, a game they can replicate week after week.
Borgatti's program is revolutionary because it efficiently enables players to learn the long-accepted fundamentals of the golf swing. Step-by-step instructions, illustrated with full-colour photographs, offer a user-friendly map to mastering the essentials, including everything from the core four fundamentals of a powerful swing to absolute precision on and around the green.
Like a private lesson from Roberto himself, A Swing You Can Trust takes into account the individual player's physical traits: body geometry, flexibility, and strength. It offers exercises to do without holding a golf club -- at home, at the gym, or wherever -- to groove a swing; shows you the most effective warm-up/preparation routines to use before a round; and provides fitness training plans as well as instruction in state-of-the-art swing-analysis technology -- all of which readers can use to take their games to the subsequent level and beyond. This focused, practical system for training and playing will help everyone -- beginner or professional, man or woman -- to be the best golfer they can be.

I was so worked up by reading the reviews, I immediately bought an e-book because I could not wait for shipping time from Amazon. Then I realized that the reviews have over hyped the book. If you pickup any other beginner book, you will find most of the information which is presented here.
I wanted to break 90 real bad on the course, so I continued my search for good instruction book. (my budget does not allow me to take lessons). One good book that helped me break 90 this year was 'Plane Truth for Golfers'. I had neglected that book for couple of years because I thought it would be too technical and now I wish I wouldn't have.
So save your money on this book or at least browse it in a bookstore before you buy it.

I am 66 years old and this year my game has been going downhill. My local handicap has climbed from a 19 to a 25 since April. Over the years I have read at least 100 golf instructional books and tried everything. Thursday I had a 107 and I felt like quitting golf. That evening I was looking at more golf instruction books and came across this one; written by an opera singer who also teaches golf. I almost did not buy it, but when I looked through it the simplicity of his method appealed to me. I have always had the problem of "paralysis by analysis". This book so clearly explained how to set up properly with a logical reason why he recommends each aspect of the set up. Correct setup and starting the swing by moving the left shoulder (for right handers) forward towards the ball seemed to be all that you had to do (later in reading the book I saw also the mention of starting the downswing by shifting the hips forward). I immediately tried the setup and swing back by moving my shoulder forward for a level turn and felt it would be difficult to swing incorrectly. Also, I would not have enough to think about to get my usual "paralysis by analysis".
Today Friday, I tried the set-up and single thought of starting the swing with a forward movement of my left shoulder (I am right handed) and had a very consistent round with about 20 yards more distance on my drives. I shot a 90, 17 strokes better than on Wednesday. Not bad for my very first try using Roberto Borgatti's method. I highly recommend this book for its simplicity, clear instructions and logical basis. It also covers putting, chipping, sand play and includes exercises and drills. I did try its sand trap recommendations from a difficult lie in a purple side sand trap and put the ball about two feet from the pin (I was in the sand only once). A shot I normally can't hit at all.
What I love most is the feeling that the swing is really very simple and that once I start the swing I need not think about it from this setup. No more "paralysis by analysis"! I think the value of this book is that its method is both simple and correct and allows each individual to use his or her unique swing within these so solid fundamentals. I highly recommend it.

This book does not provide the technical or detailed approach or really drive NEW thoughts on say a transition. It is a solid, general book in my humble opinion,

I was very disappointed by the content of this book. It provides little if anything new for the experienced golfer. The quality of the pages and production is excellent. The scope is very good and the book is, in my opinion, best for the relatively new or beginning golfer.

It has been said golf is a game of basics. Then this book is a classic. I have never seen them so well explained and shown, without an excess of explanation. Bravo Roberto.I will bet you can sing like Caruso too.
