From the supplier: Psychiatric hospitalization for adolescents and children is necessary when their behaviors are acutely dangerous to themselves and environment. Most acute psychiatric hospitalizations are approximately two weeks but many facilities face pressure to shorten the lengths. Efforts, therefore, must be made to facilitate more efficient treatment on inpatient units. Among the obstacles to treatment are stressors experienced by many youth throughout psychiatric hospitalization.
