Product Description:
Piracy remains a very real problem in many areas, and today's pirates are more audacious and violent than ever. This manual offers modern seamen -- from ship captains to yacht owners -- sound advice on thwarting a range of threats, from stowaways to political terrorists. Drawing on naval and SEAL team training, the authors offer guidance on every aspect of maritime defense, from detection to deterrence to specific methods of repelling attackers while minimizing casualties and damage to the vessel.

Given the impressive records of the authors I would have thought they'd be able to put together a much more comprehensive book, which btw I wouldn't have minded paying a lot more for - provided it had current info and not stuff from a 1970's SF manual. This contains very basic information written over a weekend with information that could have been plucked from the web with a few google searches. Not a book for serious operators.

Modern piracy has a few rare case every one knows of the 1985 indent of the Achille Lauro case. But there have been other case to witch include hijacking and muder. A great book.
