Product Description:
Continuing with the adventures of Old West heroine Breanna Baylor, book five of the Angel of Mercy series finds Breanna once again facing danger and reaching out to those in need of love...and Christ. After accidentally learning of a planned assassination endeavor on the life of President Ulysses S. Grant, Breanna risks her own safety to protect the country's leader. Afterward, she is invited to Washington to receive a commendation before Congress, and on the way home the traveling nurse comes across an 'orphan train' carrying children out West to find adoptive families. A special bond forms between Breanna and three of the children who she leads to the Lord. But when the children's new family is not all that it appears, Breanna is called upon to once more help the three precious ones in Suffer the Little Children.

Stories about the Orphan Train fascinate me, and this one is well done. Al Lacy shows the plight of children in New York, along with the solutions (and problems) created by the Orphan Train. As a reader, I wanted brothers and sister, Jarod, Nathan, and Susan, to find a home together. Breanna Baylor's care for the children, both physically and spiritually, is touching and admirable. I was pleased when the story merged with another in the series, telling me more about the lives of favorite characters from previous books. I'm happy to recommend Book 5 in the Angel of Mercy series.
