With over 100 perspective and 3-view drawings, accompanied by in-depth descriptive keys
This revised edition features eight pages of colour plates and a large-scale plan of the ship on the reverse of an extended fold-out jacket
A title in a series that has established a substantial following in its specialist field
HMS Belfast was the largest British cruiser of the Second World War and saw distinguished service throughout the conflict, including playing a major part in the destruction of the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst. Today she is preserved as an historic monument on the River Thames in London.
The 'Anatomy of the Ship' series aims to provide the finest documentation of individual ships and ship types ever published. What makes the series unique is a complete set of superbly executed line drawings, both the conventional type of plan as well as explanatory views, with fully descriptive keys. These are supported by technical details and a record of the ship's service history.
Ross Watton has also written the Anatomy of the Ship on HMS Warspite

The Anatomy of a ship series is an excelent series and I have most (but not all) of them. My only problem with them is that when I go to build a large scale model I need another source for some of the lines for the small boats carried aboard. Some of these were easy to find and some of them I am still looking for.

The Belfast was the Largest British cruiser of WWII, and went on to fight in Korea. This is the sixth in the Anatomy of the ship series and the very first by WATTON. Like all of the series it has impeccable detail covers all aspects of the ship. Perfect for modellers but not the most detailed of the series, but it does dwell on armament and accomodation. Hard to find.
