This book was a watershed for me in understanding US railway construction. It allows the reader to understand how fully involved foreign captital has been in the building of our great country. Augustus outlines many interesting railways and their respective construction, including such rarities as the Cairo & St. Louis line, built narrow guage. For anyone with an interest in the business of railways, this is an absolute must for your collection.
