Amazon.com Review:
How to Dress a Naked Window gives clear, thorough, well-illustrated instructions for 32 handsomely designed window treatments. Donna Babylon, a noted home-decor sewing expert who has appeared on many do-it-yourself TV shows, walks us step-by-step through the entire construction process for each design. Her instructions explain everything from where to mount the rod brackets, to measuring and calculating fabric requirements, to cutting, sewing, and final installation. Each of the four categories--valances, tabs, curtains, and shaped treatments--is filled with treatments presented in attractive fabrics. Even novice sewers should be able to tackle most of these projects, because they generally require only straight-line sewing. The final chapter covers all the general techniques and is filled with useful tips and tricks.

Donna Babylon has outdone herself with this one!
A TRUE step by step guide to beautiful and professional looking window dressings!
I was amazed at the detail in the instructions! Everything is clearly explained in language that sewers and non-sewers alike can understand and follow. Donna makes no assumptions and gives fully detailed instructions for each project and includes professional tips for each treatment,as well. She included full a chapter on general instructions so that your finished product is a window dressing of quality. Nothing is left to chance as she not only gives you a list of the techniques and terms you need to know, she also gives you an exact list of the materials to gather. If that wasn't enough, the designs are stylish and very easily adaptable to one's own home. In addition, there are full colour pictures of the finished designs, precise sketches of the process and also, sketches of alternatives to each design. What more can you ask?
I'm using four different designs from this book in my own home. My materials range from poplin and printed cotton for the game room to silk and braided trims for the diningroom. I was quoted an estimate of $1800.00 to do the windows in my diningroom. I'm doing them for $300.00.
The great thing about this book is that everything turns out exactly as you want. You can't miss with How to Dress a Naked Window! I'm saving a couple of windows in anticipation of Donna's subsequent book.
Well Done, Ms. Babylon

I've had a difficult time finding instructions for window treatments I'd actually want to have in my home. Donna's selections are up-to-date, easy to accomplish and fun to do. I've been sewing for about 5 years, but was able to create very professional looking treatments for about a 1/4 of the cost you'd expect to pay in stores.

After seeing Donna as a guest on the Discovery Channel's Interior Motives with Christopher Lowell, I just had to get her book. And true to what Christopher and Donna claimed, this book is excellent in describing, step-by-step, exactly how to make curtains, swags, etc. I am so pleased with the results. I just started sewing again after a ten year hiatus and was a little nervous, but my draperies look every bit as good as the professionals and I thank Donna for her efforts in putting her skills to print, simplfying the task and enabling me to overcome the fears of custom decorating the windows in my home myself. Because of Donna, I have a $600 look for only $200!
