Editor's Notes and Comments:
Product Description:
When the Trans Am series let pony cars loose on the road circuits of America, some of the most exciting road racing in history took place. Until rule changes forced American manufacturer teams to withdraw in 1972, these ground-pounders enjoyed a golden era of dominance. Fans of vintage racing and muscle cars will enjoy this book's great photography and commentary from series participants, as well as comprehensive race results.

Trans-Am: The Pony Car Wars 1966-1972 I followed the complete Trans-Am series, and was thrilled to see this book hit the market. The pix are great, but the stories by drivers, owners, etc are the best.

This book brings back another era in Auto Racing, before the cars became rolling billboards.
For anybody who remembers Trans-Am racing, we must thank Dave Friedman for this book. His written history, going year by year, is great reading. The photographs speak for themselves - even if you don't know about Trans-Am racing, his photos are well worth the price of the book.

I like racing cars ( Can-Am, Group C, DTM ) but never really read about the Trans Am days. But when I saw the pictures on the Amazon site of the Alfa GTA's, Lotus Cortina's etc. in this book my interest was rising and I ordered this book.
Did not regret it. Learnt things I never knew before: Jochen Rindt in an Alfa GTA, Lotus Cortina's and Fiat Abarth's racing in the USA. I have spent many hours studing the pictures and reading the comments of drivers, team bosses and crew.
It is such a nice book and should be twice the pages it is now, filled with all these terrific actionpictures of the early Trans Am days of european cars and the big american bangers.
Worth every penny and I loved it.
