Product Description:
A Crazy Mixed-up School.
There'd been a terrible mistake. Wayside School was supposed to be built with thirty classrooms one on top of the other...thirty stories tall! (The builder said he was very sorry.)
That may be why all kinds of funny things happen at Wayside SChool...especially on the thirteenth floor. You'll meet Mrs. Gorf, the meanest teacher of all, terrible Todd, who always gets sent home early, and John who can read only upside down--along with all the other kids in the crazy mix-up school that came out sideways. But you'll never guess the truth about Sammy, the new kid...or what's in store for Wayside School on Halloween!
There was a terrible mistake-Wayside School was built with one classroom on top of another, thirty stories high! (The builder said he was sorry.) Maybe that's why all kinds of funny things happened at Wayside-especially on the thirteenth floor.

Here's my 9-year-old son's review:
I think this book is appropriate for kids, because it has funny stories about kids you don't see every day and kids who do strange but hilarious things. It's even more fun that the author uses himself as a character in the book - the yard teacher. He must have thought the book through really well, because it's full of interesting details. I read all three books in 5 evenings.

I had a heck of a time getting my six year old to WANT to read anything. It was constant whining and "do I have to?". I crossed one of these books by chance at my workplace and brought it home. Now my daughter can't get enough and begs to read. She reads in the car in the morning and at bedtime. In a few short months she has really built up her vocabulary and reading proficiency. I don't know how this author figured it out, but he knows what keeps a child engaged! I got the whole set of books and she read through them, a couple chapters at a time, over the summer.

These books were a huge hit with my 7 year old son. I read some of the books aloud with him and found myself laughing out loud! They're quirky and a bit irreverent at times, but I would recommend them for any child with a great sense of humor!

this book is very cool and a lot of fun to read! My step daughter Lexy has it and we read it together even though we are 1,500 miles a part!
