My grand son, which is 8 years old, and I have had wonderful time reading the whole series.
He began to become familiar with the books last year, and he wanted to have the other 2. I did not have doubts these books are very enjoyable when I heart him laughing a lot while reading.

Do you like funny books that you cannot get your eye off? Then try Wayside School gets a Little Stranger by Louis Sachar. The book is about a school that closes down for repairs for 243 days and every one of the children who went to the school before get put into a different school.
This book tells you about a class that is on the 30th floor. They have a teacher that is named Miss Jewels but she gets pregnant and has to leave the school for a little bit.
One day there is a new teacher who is the son of a teacher, but he doesn't last. Then another teacher comes and they get rid of her too and then they want to get their old teacher back.
The school has 30 floors but there is no 19th floor. The teacher that works on the 19th floor is supposed to be named Miss Zarves, but if there is 19th floor the children think there can't a Miss Zarves.
So find out how the children get Miss Jewels back or if they get her back, and find out if Miss Zarves really exists. The only way to do is by reading the book; so read the book and I will be very happy.

Wayside school is open again!
This is a sentence used in WAYSIDE SCHOOL GETS A LITTLE STRANGER by Louis Sachar. The book is fun-filled and entertaining. It will chill your funny bones and send you screaming in laughter. It takes place at good old Wayside School. The main characters are Mrs.Jewls, Louis, the yard teacher, Todd, Sharie, Calvin, D.J., and the rest of Mrs.Jewls' class. Everyone went to horrible schools for 243 days because Wayside School closed to get rid of the cows (don't ask or else). Now that Wayside School is reopening, everyone is back and even Sammy, who's a dead rat (literally!) and is very mean, is very happy. There are surprises like Mrs.Mush's baked liver with purple sauce. Also our biggest surprise is that Mrs. Jewls is expecting a baby! But three substitutes are coming to Mrs.Jewls' class.This means WAYSIDE SCHOOL GETS A LITTLE STRANGER!
This book is very funny and strangely entertaining. It's also hard to put down. Wayside School is bizarrely made with classrooms built one on top of the other. I recommend it to people who love funny books.

I originally checked this out of the library for our summer vacation. I was surprised to find that not only did my children enjoy it, but my husband and I also found it very entertaining. It is filled with subtle jokes like the colour coded elevator that only goes one direction. The series of substitute teachers all with some funny twist, such as an extra nose or ear, but that is not the strange part. These substitutes have special powers and the students at Wayside School are thier unwitting victims. We enjoyed hours of jokes and the kids were not glued to the DVD. The best part - no one got car sick. :)
